The striper bite continues to be pretty fair on fish mostly from 1-8 to three pounds, with a few bigger on the trout-like swimbaits. For the smaller fish, smaller swim baits, jerk baits, and trolled flies are getting the most fish, but there are also a lot of bait fish on blood worms and lug worms. There was DFW trout plant this week and two weeks ago. There is a slow bite on the trout on small spinners, spoons, jigs, PowerMice, and PowerBait. There is a slow catfish bite on the cut baits. Largemouth bass have slowed with the cooler weather with most action on plastics, jigs, and jigging spoons in 20 to 50 feet of water. Bluegill and redear are slow with few reports. Very little fishing pressure. There is a health warning about eating fish from here (except the rainbow trout). Overall, the stripers continue to be the best bet with fair action on fish mostly from 1-8 to three pounds, with a few bigger. Topwater, jerk baits, and trolled flies are all getting fish, but there are also a lot of bait fish on blood worms and lug worms. There is a fair catfish bite on the cut baits. Largemouth bass have been fair with most of the action on plastics in 15 to 30 feet of water. Bluegill and redear are slowing way down, but a few on small jigs topped with baits or half a nightcrawler fished around structure in 12 to 40 feet of water. Very little fishing pressure. There is a health warning about eating fish from here (except the rainbow trout). More information at this link: http://www.oehha.ca.gov/fish/so_cal/pyramidlake2013.html.
