East Okoboji Lake     Northwest     The forecast is calling for some warm weather in the upcoming week. This will cause areas of open water to become bigger as well as seems along the edge of the lake to begin to open up so be careful when going out onto the ice.      East Okoboji Lake     Northwest     Black Crappie - Fair: A decent number of Crappie have been getting caught on the south basin.  

     East Okoboji Lake     Northwest     The Yellow Bass bite has been very good recently on East Okoboji with many people leaving the lake with smiles and full buckets of fish. If you do go out on East lake be careful especially around the pressure cracks. Also, remember that Walleye season has closed up until Walleye weekend on May 6th and 7th.     

     East Okoboji Lake     Northwest     Yellow Bass - Excellent: A large number of Yellow Bass are being caught on the south basin of the lake.

Black Crappie - Good: Concentrate on wooden docks casting small jig lures tipped with bait will produce good numbers of fish.Yellow Bass - Good: Good action early morning and evening hours, fish bridge sites and public docks on the north end for the best action. Fish are also being caught on the south end of the lake, look for rock piles in 15 - 20 feet of water for the best action.Yellow Perch - Good: Reports of good numbers of fish being caught off public docks on the north end, cast mini jigs tipped with wigglers and swim the bait slowly back to the dock.Bluegill - Good: Fish are being caught on the south end of the lake in 15 feet of water. Rock piles close to aquatic plants will produce the best action.

Channel Catfish - Good: Anglers fishing after dark will catch angler acceptable size and larger fish. Use cut bait on the bottom for this hard fighting game fish. Bluegill - Good: Boat anglers fishing the north end docks on the east side of the lake will catch good numbers of bluegill, crappie and yellow perch. Cast a mini jig and swim it back to the boat slowly. Yellow Bass - Fair: Dock anglers casting a mini jig will catch numbers of fish. Best action will be in the early evening hours. Black Crappie - Good: Cast small jig lures tipped with bait on the wooden docks. Yellow Perch - Good: Yellow perch fishing has been "hit or miss" from the docks. Try early morning or evening for the best results.
