There are a lot of hybrids holding around 20-30 feet deep and can be caught on jigging spoons and other artificials. Live bait is still the go to this time of year. Coosa River bass fishing guide Joey Nania reports good number on average size spotted bass and slow largemouth fishing. Joey expects the bite to pick up when cooler weather moves in

The Striped bass seem to have moved out of the springs and into the deeper water. Up until a couple weeks ago great numbers were in the spring feed creeks. We've been going back to check for the last two weeks, with not much luck. Live bait down lined is your best option when you find fish grouped up.

Coosa River Guide Service - Lay Lake, Alabama. www.laylakefishingguides.com Our catfish guides have been on the big fish the last couple days. With more rain, they've been running more water. That's been the key for the big fish bite. 30' holes have been paying off good. Cut bait and live bait has been our bait of choose. Over the next month the bite wil only get better.
