Weather: Sunny Air Temperature: 81-90 F

The weather this week has been beautiful with average temperatures in the high 90's and peak temperatures in the high 100s with little to no wind. Best bet to catch fish would be to target either catfish or stripers.

The water temperature is sitting at 79 degrees making for goof top water action. If you decide to target stripes we recommend fishing out towards heron bay. Most anglers have ben catching them on anchovies, sardines, or chicken liver. If you don't like bait fishing, we recommend using top water lures (Heddon Spooks, Pencil, Poppers, ETC) or jerk bait (Lucky Craft, Rapala, Yo-Zuri). Most anglers have been catching them out towards the dam but we do also recommend fishing in shallow bay.

Catfishing have been on the prowl latley with many angler catching them. Most anglers are using Anchovies, Mackerel, or Nightcrawlers. Best areas to fish for cats would be either in the lower or upper narrows, look for as much cover in the water as you can (weedbeds, fallen trees, etc)

Black bass have slowed down this week with few anglers reporting catches. Thew few we have had has been in the different coves fishing fallen trees and thulie patches. Best bet to catch them would be either reoboworms or senkos. We do recommend using either jerk baits or crank baits as well.

The weather this week has been superb, temperatures in the mid 80s to low 90s with only about 2-4MPH -winds. The water temperature is sitting at a warm 74° and the water clarity is sitting about 8-10 feet . The best bet for fishing is going to be the stripes are rising with them. Top water action has started; we've seen many school of stripers boiling chasing shad on the surface. Most of the boils seen have been early mornings and lare evenings but we have seen a few throughout the day. Anglers have still been catching them on anchovies, chicken liver, or sardines out at the dam.

Catfish have been turning on with the recent plants. Most anglers have been catching them in the lower narrows around all the fallen trees and weed beds, Best baits to use would be anchovies, mackerel, or nightcrawlers. We do also recommend fishing in the upper narrows as wel.

Black bass are showing up more often with the warmer water. More anglers are catching them on crank baits and jerk baits instead of roboworms, senkos, or jigs. You may also catch them on top water lures near Thule patches and weed beds.

The weather this week has varied day to day. Some days are beautiful in the mid 80s with little to no wind. ON the other hand we have had days that are atrocious with winds at about 25 MPH and gusts up to 35 MPH. The fishing has picked up this week with many anglers limiting out on stripe bass. Most anglers have been catching them out towards the dam off of points. Anglers are also catching them in the lower narrows along the beaches. Best baits to use would be Anchoives, Chicken Liver, or Sardines. If you like to throw lures I would recommend jerk baits ( Yo-Zuri, Lucky Craft, Etc) or jigs (chatterbaits, hair razors, etc). Black bass are still steady with anglers catching them from 2-5 lbs. Most anglers are getting them on weedless Senkos or roboworms around Thule patches, fallen trees and rocky points. You can also catch them on smaller jigs and crank baits.Catfish are showing up with many anglers catching them from 2-8 lbs . If you target them look for cover (fallen trees, weed beds, etc) the more cover the better chance to find a school. With the warm water, Trout are going to be the hardest to catch. If you do a target them, try to find a deep cove or a nice beach that drops off. Best baits to use would be either night crawlers or garlic power bait.
