Weather: Sunny Air Temperature: 81-90 F

Water temp: 72° with a visibility of about 5-10 feet deep depending on where you are on the lake. Chilly overcast mornings break to sunshine mid morning and we are experiencing warmt to hot afternoons. The last week has been pretty windy out here, but that's to be expected as we enter into the fall season.

As I said earlier we are seeing boils throughout the narrow and south end. For those of you who own your own boat I strongly suggest fishing in the south end early in the morning arounf 6-7 am. Unfortunately our rental boats are not allowed in the south end. However stripes are boiling just outside the no wake zone north of the public launch ramp all the way to Hetchy camp in the mid narrows. Top water lures like zara spooks, and pencil poppers are working great for most anglers but subsurface lures like jerkbaits, swimbaits, and jigs are working just as well for others.

Catfish are turned on right now eating Anchovies and Sardines in mid to shallow water. We are waiting for the creek to start flowing when the rain comes to see some bigger cats. No trout are being caught yet as the water is still in the 70's. We should start to see trout by the end of October when the water temp. drops.

Weather: Sunny Air Temperature: 61-70 F

The weather this week has been beautiful with average temp. in the low 70s to mid 80s, with peak temp. in the highs 80's. Water temperature is sitting at a perfect 72 degrees and the water clarity is superb. Combine that with little to no wind and that makes for perfect fishing weather. The hot bite this week has been catfish with many anglers coming back with big fish. Most anglers are fishing in the lower and upper narrows around fallen trees, thulie patches, and weed beds. Best baits to use would be anchovies, mackerel or night crawlers. Strip Bass are still getting caught regularly all throughout the day. The best time to fish for these guys would be eaither early morning from about 6-10 am and from 4-8 pm. Most anglers are catching them on either top water lures or jerk baits. If you prefer to bait fish the best place to fish would be out at the dam. Best baits to use would be anchoives, sardines or chicken liver. Black bass are starting to show themselves more often with the water dropping in temperature. Most anglers are getting them on top water lures, crank baits, or worms (senko or robo worms) Best places to fish for them would be anywhere with cover in the water , whether it be falle trees, thulies, etc.

The weather this week has been beautiful with average temperatures in the high 90's and peak temperatures in the high 100s with little to no wind. Best bet to catch fish would be to target either catfish or stripers.

The water temperature is sitting at 79 degrees making for goof top water action. If you decide to target stripes we recommend fishing out towards heron bay. Most anglers have ben catching them on anchovies, sardines, or chicken liver. If you don't like bait fishing, we recommend using top water lures (Heddon Spooks, Pencil, Poppers, ETC) or jerk bait (Lucky Craft, Rapala, Yo-Zuri). Most anglers have been catching them out towards the dam but we do also recommend fishing in shallow bay.

Catfishing have been on the prowl latley with many angler catching them. Most anglers are using Anchovies, Mackerel, or Nightcrawlers. Best areas to fish for cats would be either in the lower or upper narrows, look for as much cover in the water as you can (weedbeds, fallen trees, etc)

Black bass have slowed down this week with few anglers reporting catches. Thew few we have had has been in the different coves fishing fallen trees and thulie patches. Best bet to catch them would be either reoboworms or senkos. We do recommend using either jerk baits or crank baits as well.
