Fishing Report
The high temperatures kept the trout bite slow to fair on both lakes with anglers using Power Bait (especially salmon peach, chartreuse and rainbow), night crawlers and lures to catch fish. Most trout are near or over 2 pounds. Best bite is before 10am. Hot spots included the north and western shore of lake 2 as well as the eastern and western shore of lake 3. Anglers reported slow to fair bass action on the western shore of lake 3 and the north and western shore of lake 2 with fish up to 4 pounds. Big Catches of the Week: Gerald Young of Apple Valley reeled in a 7.45 Lbs rainbow on a night crawler from the western shore of lake 2. Chino angler, Brad Donahue, caught an 11.51 trout ob a Bline brown jig while fishing the eastern shore of lake 3. Pico Rivera angler, Gabriel Delacruz, caught a 4. 16 Lbs trout on salmon peach Power Bait on lake 2. Ernest Cerecedes of Anaheim scored an 11 lbs trout on an inflated night crawler while fishing the western shore of lake 2. Paula Bennett of Apple Valley reeled in a 4 Lbs rainbow from the north shore of lake 2 n hatchery pellet Power Bait

Catches of Week: Fullerton angler, Mark Kaihara, scored a 10.5 Lbs rainbow to limit. He used a brown jig and fished lake 3 at Jess Ranch Lakes. Phil Hildebrandt of Anaheim reeled in an 11 Lbs catfish on bonito bait from the eastern shore of lake 3. Jo Bleeker of Ventura scored a 6.2 Lb rainbow on corn Power Bait to limit while fishing the western shore of Lake 2 at Jess Ranch Lakes. Catches of the Week: John Papazian of Van Nuys caught his 5.4 Lbs rainbow on garlic Power Bait while fishing the western shore of Lake 3 with his friend Peter Enrique of Sylmar who caught his four trout on Salmon Peach Power Bait. Jesse Velasquez of Loma Linda scored a 15 Lb catfish on mackerel while fishing the north shore of Lake 2. He also caught an 11.5 Lbs catfish as well. Catch of the week: Seth Maloney scored a pair of 8 Lbs trout while fishing for bass with a Rattle Trap. He caught the pair of rainbows while fishing the western shore of Lake 3. Kevin Salgado of Hesperia caught a 7.8 Lbs rainbow on a mini jig while fishing the western shore of lake 3. Jason Lawler of Apple Valley used mackerel to catch his 7.5 Lbs Catfish from the western shore of lake 2. Catches of the Week: Danny Valdez of Loma Linda scored an 11.4 Lbs Rainbow on a Kastmaster while fishing the north shore of lake 2. San Bernardino angler, Donald Garcia Sr., caught his 7.5 Lbs trout on Power Bait from the western shore of lake 3. Catches of Week: Fred Winterswyck of Chino Hills scored a 9.4 Lbs rainbow on a gold Jake Lure while fishing the western shore of lake 3. J Sherman of Apple Valley caught a 6 Lbs trout on a night crawler to limit on the western shore of lake 2. JR Ruben of San Bernardino used a yellow and white jiog to catch his 8 Lbs and 6.8 Lbs rainbows while fishing the north shore of lake 2. Catches of the Week: Fred Winterswyk of Chino Hills scored a limit that included 9 Lbs 8 Ozs and 4 Lbs rainbows. He used a Jake Lure and fished the western shore of lake3 near the drain. George Mantooth of Apple Valley caught a 14 Lb catfish on a night crawler from the eastern shore of lake 2 on mackerel and shrimp from the western and northern shore of lake 3. Loma Linda angler, Jesse Velasquez, used mackerel to catch his 16.8 catfish while fishing the western shore of lake 3 near the pump house. Salvadore Garcia of Hesperia caught his 6 Lbs, 7.8 Lbs and 6.2 Lbs trout on a tube jig from the north shore of lake 2. James Conaway of San Bernardino caught his 10.7 Lbs rainbow on a Moon Worm black minnow from the north shore of lake 2. Lb Bass on jigs while fishing the western shore of lake 2. Catches of the Week: Placentia angler, Jose Fernandez, scored an 8.7 Lbs rainbow using a large minnow while fishing the grassy point of lake 3. La Puente angler, Robert Delatorre, reeled in a 7.9 Lb trout on a yellow tube jig while fishing the north shore of lake 2.
