Bailey’s Beaver Lake Guide Service (479-366-8664) said said water surface temperature is in the mid-50s. Stripers are moving around the lake looking for clean water and feeding intermittently throughout the day. Most stripers are making their way into the creek arms. Fishing is fair to good on live shad fished from the surface to 30 feet deep. You can also try trolling small umbrella rigs with white grubs and downrigger trolling Rapala Husky Jerks, Bomber 15As and 16As and 5- to 6- inch Smithwick Rattling Rogues. Bink pro scale 1-oz. jigging spoons in white, white with red throat, white many shad and silver many shad are still producing fish. Work the spoon through the school and hang on tight jigging spoons are also producing walleye. Stripers are currently found in the mouths of large arms and are making their way up them in search of food. Small stripers and white bass are schooling all over the lake, so have a ½-oz. Kastmaster spoon ready for surface feeding fish. Most walleye are being caught about 5-10ft deep using the following methods: Three-way rigs with a no. 11 Rapala, flat line trolling Hot-n-Tot's, Wiggle Warts, Rapala Tail Dancers, Shad Raps, Reef Runners or Ripstiks, slow death rigs, shakee blades and spinner rigs featuring orange and chartreuse beads tipped with minnows, nightcrawlers or leeches, Gulp or Power Bait. Check the following hot spots on the lake this week: at Lost Bridge North, Walleye and white bass are being caught here in numbers, and stripers are scattered and being caught as well; At Big Clifty, check the channel that skirts the humps between the Big Clifty and Henry Hollow arms. Walleye and stripers are being caught around Point 5 and Point 6 (be sure to check the back of van hollow and main lake structures and secondary points in the area); in the Rambo Creek Arm, check in the back as well as main lake structures and secondary points in the area for Beaver Lake stripers. Ford and Cedar Creek are also a hot spot, as is Goat Island at Larue.

1 fish caught | Lunker: 2lb Largemouth Bass using a War Eagle Spinnerbait

Just picked up a new rod and reel to try out that was on sale.  So I decided to brave the cold weather and went down to a secluded little fishing hole in the back of a cove by my house.  I only stayed out there around an hour before I couldn't stand the weather any longer.  But, after walking the bank all around the cove, I was able to catch about a 2 pounder by casting a 1/2 oz White War Eagle spinnerbait real shallow parallel to the bank.  It was a good fish, and worth the trip!  Rod and reel (Daiwa Tatula Type R on an Omen Black rod) worked fabulously...
